Arts, culture, recreation and life-long learning are part of the fabric of everyday life in Germantown. Year-round programs and events are provided for residents to enjoy in a variety of ways. In an effort to maintain service excellence and provide exceptional services responsive to citizens’ needs, continuous improvement will be made to offer a wide range of unique recreational, leisure and cultural programs available to all residents.

On Target Satisfaction with Recreation and Cultural Arts Programs and Services

Description:

Provide year-round programs and events for residents to enjoy in a variety of ways.

 
Analysis:

The department continues to use feedback of surveys to help determine programming decisions and measure overall customer service satisfaction. 12 programs were surveyed for the 4th quarter in FY26 and achieved a combined customer service satisfaction rate of 94%. These included the 50+ programming, 50+ Day Trips, the Farm Park, REACH Before/Afterschool, Youth Basketball and our March special events (Arbor Day, Eggstravaganza and After Dark Egg Hunt). Our department will continue to grow in all areas and allow our service excellence goals to be the driving force in all that we do.

On Target Participation in Recreation and Cultural Arts Programs

Description:

Engage the community through top-quality inclusive recreation, cultural arts, entertainment and life-long learning opportunities.

 
Analysis:

Participation in fourth quarter programs reached a total of 12,985 people across a wide spectrum of offerings from special recreation, 50+ programming, REACH, sports, environmental education classes, activities at the Farm Park and special events. Highlights of the quarter included key Spring and Summer events, Groovin and Grillin concert series and the Bluebird Nature Fest and Crawfish Boil and our regular programming that happens throughout the year.

On Target Percent Increase in Quality of Life Social Media Engagement

Description:

Strive to place the Germantown Parks and Recreation Department's brand messages before the citizens, customers, and participants in the most appropriate ways. 

 
Analysis:

In Q4-FY26, the "Percent Increase in Quality of Life Social Media Engagement" measure achieved an "On Target" status with an actual value of 1,234,930, significantly exceeding the target and benchmark of 350,000. This continues a trend of surpassing targets throughout FY26, with Q3-FY26 at 1,148,520. The consistent increase suggests effective engagement strategies. 

 

 
Impact:
The City has a significant impact on this measure, however engagement is also impacted by factors beyond our control. This measure does not distinguish between positive and negative sentiment. From Q1-FY24 to Q4-FY26, the "Percent Increase in Quality of Life Social Media Engagement" consistently surpassed targets and benchmarks, with notable growth each fiscal year. Starting from 625,893 in Q1-FY24, engagement has seen remarkable increases, reaching 1,234,930 in Q4-FY26. This indicates a robust and effective social media strategy driving engagement over the long term.
